Open Call for Submissions
Write from a real or imaginary animal's perspective, and talk about the human world. Do you understand humans? Who do you want to talk to and what do you want to talk about to this human? Do you have any special powers? Just let your imagination run wild.
Send along a self-portrait (of this animal) if you like drawing. Tell us your name.
Deadline: 31st May, 2023
Length of each poem: Maximum two A4 pages (Font: Times New Roman/新細明體 12)
You can submit anytime before the deadline.
Regular Submission Guidelines
We welcome unpublished poems written in English, Chinese or translated from the poets’ native languages into English. Please include the Chinese original if it is translated from Chinese. Work should be pasted or typed in the body of the email. We encourage audio submissions sent as an attachment. Audio recordings must be accompanied by the text of the poems. In your email, please include:
your name, title of your poem, the country you are from and your age (for children)
You can include up to three poems in your email. Please send your submissions to pawspoetry@yahoo.com
Pause for Paws publishes in March, June, September and December. Submissions will be read and must be sent in February (for the Spring issue), May (for the Summer issue), August (for the Fall issue) and November (for the Winter issue). Poems sent prior to the time specified will not be read or considered.
